2016 VF Engineering Supercharged Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2
When you see a Lamborghini, most people think that the car is fast. When others think of them, they say “How can I make this thing even faster?”. That’s the exact thought that came to mind when our customer bought his 2016 Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2. After purchasing the car brand new and driving it for less than 200 miles, the customer decided that it needed more power. When he brought the vehicle in and told us what he wanted to do, we knew traditional modifications wouldn’t cut it. We needed to go forced induction. That’s exactly what we did.
In order for us to get the power that the customer wanted, we decided to go with a VF800 Supercharger System from VF Engineering. This kit is designed to take the Huracan LP580-2 from 572hp and 398tq all the way up to 805hp and 610tq, all this while still being completely reversible if the car ever had to be returned to stock.
The VF800 System includes the following:
- Eaton TVS2300 Roots Supercharger
- Custom 6061 Aluminum Intake Manifold
- Internal Bypass System
- High-Flow Dual Throttle Body Inlet
- High-Flow MAF Housings
- K&N Induction Filters w/ Pre-Filters
- Dual Air-Water Charge Cooler System
- Polypropylene Water Reservoir
- OEM High-Density Water Radiator
- Bosch Water Pump
- Custom ECU Tune
It took a few days for the kit to arrive from VF Engineering. As the VF800 Kit is designed to be direct bolt-on, installation is pretty straight forward. Time consuming, but still bolt-on. As you can see in the photos, it was definitely an involved process.
Here’s the supercharger mocked up and looking pretty on the engine.
Sometimes you just gotta get in there to get things done.
Even James had to get his hands dirty with this one.
But in the end, the whole install is seamless. Almost as if it came from the factory this way.
The VF800 System retails for $29,995. A bit pricey for some, but definitely worth it if you have the change to spare.
